Eternal Knight -- Patch 1.2


Eternal Knight's 1.2 release is here! This version adds a couple quality of life changes, and some new UI elements.

Level Cap Increase -> 20

You can now continue leveling the party to level 20, if you so choose. The final boss is still balanced for a level 10 party, and there are no skills to learn beyond level 10. Regardless, players who wish to continue their journey can now do so!

New Skill Icons!

A minor change that nevertheless punches up combat visually!

Rapid Fire Rework

This mainstay skill has been overhauled to have a dynamic cost based on the enemy party's size, without the old accuracy penalty. Bang, bang, pow.

Bug Fixes and Balance Changes

The full list of changes:

  • Classes
    • Knight
      • Begins the game with Holy Light and Holy Fire
      • Magic Strike now deals regular attack damage, in addition to bonus damage based on user’s Magic stat
    • Soldier
      • Reload can be used on the Command screen during Act 1
      • Begins the game knowing Rapid Fire
    • Solder & Sniper
      • Rapid Fire
        • Now attacks every target for 25% less damage, but without the accuracy penalty.
        • Costs 1 bullet per target (variable)
        • New animation
      • Reload no longer appears in the Skills screen
      • Suppressive Fire
        • Now reduces Agility to 0%, down from 75%.
          • This means enemies will almost always take their turn last when suppressed.
        • New animation
  • Combat
    • General
      • Most elemental and physical resistances have been removed, except for obvious ones such as fire against a fire creature.
      • Elemental weaknesses have been re-tuned to be more intuitive.
      • Physical damage weakness has been re-tuned:
        • Blunt damage is best against armored creatures.
        • Piercing damage is best against flying creatures.
        • Slashing damage is best against unarmored creatures.
    • Corrosive Fungus
      • Now correctly summons a third slime
      • No longer resistant to magic
  • Quests
    • Added a hint for the Murky Orb near the Way Station
  • UI
    • Main Menu commands are now left-justified
    • Skills now have unique icons
  • Performance
    • itch.io installer is now supported, reducing download times for future patches starting with v1.2
  • Bug Fixes
    • The bat above the mine cart track is no longer passable
    • Boss: Stranger
      • No longer ignores Taunt, except for an AoE attack
      • Now properly advertises his AoE attack every time, not just the first

One last fix was also added tonight to adjust the status screen and remove the unnecessary submenus.
